Pesto Infused Caprese Turkey Burgers



The basil has only been planted a couple weeks, but was ready for the first trim! So I was thinking Caprese salad...stacked on a juicy burger! Also, why not stuff the patty with pesto?? There is seriously nothing better than the smell of fresh basil and the grill heating up at the same time. We ate outside, which turned out to be a great decision because I had balsamic running down my arms!





Serves 4

  • Handful fresh basil
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Fresh mozzarella
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp pesto
  • Salt and pepper


Combine ground turkey, egg, bread crumbs, pesto, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix well to incorporate ingredients. Form 4 hamburger patties. Grill patties over medium-high heat, flipping only once. When burgers are almost done, grill the buns. Layer all ingredients and drizzle with balsamic. They will be messy and delicious!
