clinical supervision: a space for personal and professional development where we can reflect, share, learn, and become more confident & effective clinicians
Building endurance & preventing burnout - Endurance is created from values-aligned practice, not measuring whether we are “good” clinicians by our ability to “save” our clients, and adequately being cared for and supported as humans too. Preventing burnout allows us to create renewable capacity, making it possible to engage in deeply relational and challenging work.
Self-Reflection as a practice of accountability - The purpose of self-reflection is to intentionally step back, examine your thoughts, feelings, and actions, to understand why and how we bring what we do into our work. It moves us from living on autopilot to gaining clear self-awareness, learning from our experiences, and evolving personally and professionally. In doing so, we hold each other accountable to improve the quality of our work, reduce the risk of doing harm, and to prevent complacency.
Finding peace in not having the answer & resisting the need to fix our clients - The human reflex most of us experience as clinicians is to try and fix what we see our clients struggling with. We so badly want to make them feel better. We often also feel backed into a corner to provide answers. Gaining the skills to resist these reflexes and what to do instead is incredibly helpful for both the client and clinician.
